It matters more than acreage does. West of the interstate you are on juniper over limestone — hard on teeth, but workable in almost any weather because the ground drains. East of it you are on blackland clay carrying post oak, elm and hackberry regrowth, which cuts more easily but turns to gumbo after rain. The same ten acres can be a three-day job on one side and a three-week scheduling problem on the other. Tell us the actual location rather than just the town and the estimate will hold.
Days rather than hours, and after a real storm sometimes more than a week. Blackland holds water and a tracked machine working it too early leaves ruts that the grading contractor then has to fix, which costs more than the wait did. If your clearing sits on the critical path, start earlier than the programme suggests rather than assuming a dry run.
Usually, if the timing is right and the machine is right. Tracked mulchers spread load far better than wheeled equipment and a competent operator plans the travel pattern to avoid repeated passes over the same line. But no machine works saturated clay without consequences. If the pad has to be graded immediately behind us, say so when booking — it changes when we come, not how we work.
Not from the stumps. Ashe juniper cut at ground level does not resprout, because the growing point sits above the cut. What you get afterwards is seedlings germinating from seed already in the soil, which is a slow and cheap problem compared with anything that resprouts. A walk with a chainsaw a couple of years out keeps you ahead of it.
