High-horsepower dedicated mulchers rent at $14,000 per week or $34,000 per month. Mid-size dedicated mulchers are $11,000 per week or $32,000 per month. The CAT 275 XE skid steer package is $1,750 per day, $8,000 per week, or $26,000 per month. Transport is quoted separately by distance and machine class.
On a monthly high-HP rental, end-of-rental teeth and preventive maintenance can be added for $8,000 more, bringing that month to $42,000.
No. Dedicated mulchers rent weekly and monthly only, because transport and setup on a machine that size do not pencil out for one day. The CAT 275 XE does rent daily at $1,750. If you need a single day of dedicated-class production, turnkey service at $4,000 per day plus transport is almost always the cheaper route.
High-horsepower dedicated mulching with our operator is $4,000 per 8-hour day plus transport. Skid steer mulching is $3,000 per day including transport. The same pattern holds on the mid-size machines ($32,000 monthly vs $11,000 weekly) and the CAT 275 XE ($26,000 monthly vs $8,000 weekly). If your scope runs past two weeks, ask about monthly.
Dedicated mulchers require $500,000 inland marine rental coverage plus $2,000,000 general liability. The CAT 275 XE requires $250,000 inland marine plus $2,000,000 general liability.
