Transport
Requires a heavy-haul RGN/lowboy and permitted load. We coordinate transport to your site; plan for wide-load routing on rural projects.
How it compares
Choose the Barko 930B over mid-size dedicated machines when raw production matters most, big acreage, heavy stems, and hard deadlines. If your project is under ~40 acres or access is constrained, the Primetech PT-175 class delivers strong production with simpler logistics. For under 10 acres or residential work, look at the CAT 275 XE.
What a Barko 930B actually is
The 930B is a purpose-built mulching tractor rather than an excavator or loader with a head bolted on, and at 320 horsepower it sits in the same rental class as the Weiler M860A and the Tigercat M726G. Barko has a long history in forestry machinery, and the 930B carries that lineage: a straightforward, heavily built carrier designed to run at full load in heat, which is most of what a Texas summer asks of a mulcher.
Dedicated carrier geometry is the difference you feel. The head stays planted through material that makes a lighter machine skip and bounce, which is what produces a consistent finished cut rather than a chewed one.
We rent Barko mulchers. We are not a Barko dealer.
A lot of people searching for a Barko in Texas are looking for a dealer, so it is worth being plain about this: we do not sell machines and we do not do warranty work. What we do is rent the 930B by the week or the month, anywhere in the state, with transport and insurance handled the same way as the rest of the fleet.
If you are trying to buy one, a dealer is the right call and we will not waste your time. If you have forty to five hundred acres to clear and no interest in owning a mulcher afterwards, that is exactly what we are for. Our rent versus buy calculator will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on.
Where it earns the rate
Heavy cedar and mesquite eradication, pipeline and transmission right of way, solar site preparation, and large commercial tracts. Three to five acres a day and better is realistic on open ground. The 930B is a particularly good choice where the material is dense and the ground is rough.
Where it does not make sense is anything under about forty acres, or a site where heavy-haul access is doubtful. Both point at the mid-size class on a standard lowboy instead.
Typical work we send it to
Large-tract cedar and juniper removal, solar site clearing and gen-tie corridors, post-harvest timber site prep, and long runs of fence line on big places.
Barko 930B rental questions
Yes, statewide. The 930B rents at $14,000 per week or $34,000 per month, the same rate as the rest of the high-HP dedicated class, with transport quoted separately by project location. Tell us the county and your dates and we will tell you honestly what we have available for that window.
No. We are a rental company, not a dealership. We do not sell machines, we do not handle warranty work, and we do not stock parts for sale. If you are looking to buy a Barko, a dealer is the right place to start. If you need one on a job for a week or a month without owning it afterwards, that is what we do.
Rates are $14,000 per week or $34,000 per month for the high-HP dedicated class, the same across Texas. Fuel and transport are not included; transport is quoted by project location. See the full rate card.
Optional on monthly rentals: end-of-rental teeth and preventive maintenance handled by us, for $8,000 more — $42,000 for the month.
They rent at the same rate, so this is not a budget decision. The Weiler M860A carries 375 horsepower against the 930B at 320, and is serviced through the CAT dealer network, which is why it is our default recommendation. The 930B is a simpler, very heavily built machine with a strong reputation for grinding through dense material without complaint. In practice availability for your dates decides it more often than the spec difference does.
Three to five acres a day is the planning band on typical Texas brush, and better on open ground with uniform material. Dense mature cedar on rocky slope pulls it down; flat mesquite pasture pushes it up. Stem density, slope and exposed rock move the number far more than the machine choice within this class does.
For the high-HP dedicated class we require $500,000 inland marine rental coverage and $2,000,000 general liability, with a certificate naming Pierce Equipment Rentals as additional insured and loss payee before the machine ships. Most contractors already carry the liability and add the rented-equipment endorsement. The insurance guide covers what to ask your agent for.
The 930B moves on heavy-haul equipment, an RGN or lowboy, with permits depending on the route. Transport is quoted per project and is not included in the rental rate.
