Transport

Heavy-haul RGN/lowboy with permits. We coordinate delivery and pickup statewide; lead time matters for far West Texas projects.

How it compares

The M726G shines on slopes and broken terrain, where its stability and tractive effort beat anything in the fleet. On flatter ground our preferred rental is the 375 HP Weiler M860A, with the Barko 930B a strong alternate in the heaviest material. Step down to a mid-size dedicated machine when transport constraints or project size don’t justify heavy haul.

Why the M726G has the reputation it does

Tigercat built its name on machines that stay running in commercial forestry, where an idle carrier costs a crew a day rather than costing one person an afternoon. The M726G is that philosophy applied to mulching: a dedicated carrier with strong tractive effort, a closed-loop track drive that delivers power smoothly on soft or sandy ground, and an operator station built for people who sit in it for ten hours.

On a weekly rental, uptime is the specification that actually matters. This is the machine in the high-HP class customers most often ask for by name, and that is usually why.

Where it earns the rate

Slopes and broken ground. Hill Country cedar on limestone, utility corridors that cross terrain rather than following it, and pine ground that will not carry a wheeled machine. It shares the high-HP rate and the three to five acre band with the Weiler M860A and the Barko 930B; where it separates is stability and traction once the ground stops being flat.

Like the rest of the class it needs heavy-haul transport, and below roughly forty acres the mobilisation cost stops making sense against a mid-size machine.

Corridor work is what it does best

Right of way is the natural fit: linear, continuous, and usually crossing exactly the kind of terrain the job was routed through because nobody wanted to build a road there. Gen-tie lines from a solar array to the point of interconnection, co-op distribution corridors, and long fence and property lines on rough country. The right-of-way clearing guide covers how that work is scoped and priced.

Typical work we send it to

Pipeline and transmission corridors, Hill Country cedar on slope, commercial site preparation, county and municipal right-of-way maintenance, and post-harvest timber ground that is too soft for anything else.

Tigercat M726G rental questions

Yes, statewide, at $14,000 per week or $34,000 per month with transport quoted separately by project location. The M726G is one of three machines in our high-HP dedicated class and it is the one most often requested by name, so it is worth asking about your dates early.

Rates are $14,000 per week or $34,000 per month for the high-HP dedicated class, the same across Texas. Fuel and transport are not included; transport is quoted by project location. See the full rate card.

Optional on monthly rentals: end-of-rental teeth and preventive maintenance handled by us, for $8,000 more — $42,000 for the month.

Better at some things. All three rent at the same rate and all three sit in the three to five acre a day band, so there is no budget trade-off. The M726G is the one we recommend when the ground is steep, broken or soft, because tractive effort and stability are where it separates. The M860A has the most horsepower at 375 and CAT dealer support behind it. The 930B is the simplest and heaviest built of the three. On flat, open acreage the difference between them is small enough that availability should decide.

Better than most of the fleet, which is the main reason to ask for it. The closed-loop track drive delivers power smoothly rather than in steps, which matters on a slope where a jerky drivetrain costs you traction, and the machine carries its weight in a way that stays predictable on side hills. On genuinely wet ground nothing is unlimited, but this is the carrier we would put on questionable footing first.

Three to five on typical Texas brush on reasonable ground. Expect the lower end in mature cedar on rocky slope, and the upper end on open mesquite or light regrowth. Slope, stem density and how much you want left standing move the figure much more than the machine does.

For the high-HP dedicated class we require $500,000 inland marine rental coverage and $2,000,000 general liability, with a certificate naming Pierce Equipment Rentals as additional insured and loss payee before the machine ships. Most contractors already carry the liability and add the rented-equipment endorsement. The insurance guide covers what to ask your agent for.

Yes. Turnkey on the high-HP class is $4,000 per 8-hour day plus transport, and that covers the machine, an experienced operator, fuel and maintenance. It tends to be the better value on projects over about 20 acres if your own crew is committed elsewhere. The rent or hire break-even works through the numbers.
