What happens after you get in touch
We will ask you five things: roughly how many acres, what is growing on them, how the machine gets in, when you need it done, and whether you have an operator. That is enough to quote the job both ways — as a rental with you running the machine, and as a turnkey job with our operator running it — so you can put the two numbers next to each other and decide. If you are renting
Three things have to line up before a machine leaves the yard. First, insurance: dedicated mulchers require $500,000 of inland marine rental coverage and $2,000,000 of general liability, and the CAT 275 XE requires $250,000 of inland marine and the same $2,000,000 general liability, with Pierce Equipment Rentals named as loss payee and additional insured. Second, an operator who has actually run a mulcher — this is not a machine to learn on, and it is the one requirement we do not flex. Third, transport, which is not included in rental rates and needs scheduling against your start date. Dedicated machines rent by the week or the month; the CAT 275 XE is the only machine in the fleet available by the day. The insurance requirements guide explains what your certificate needs to say.
If you want it done for you
Turnkey means we bring the machine and the operator and you buy a finished result. High horsepower dedicated mulching runs $4,000 per eight-hour day plus transport; skid steer mulching runs $3,000 per day with transport included. No certificate of insurance, no operator to find, no trailer to arrange. Most people who have never run a mulcher are better served here, and we will say so if that is what your project calls for.
